Self-narratives are powerful things. They can lift us up or tear us down. So often, they happen unconsciously, underneath all the noise around us; if we aren’t intentional, they can guide us without us recognizing their power.

What are you telling yourself today?

What are your inner voices saying?

Is what they are saying really true?

Too often, these internal narratives are negative. They tell us we are not worthy, not capable, not loveable, and not enough. They tear us down and eat away at our self-esteem and self-confidence. But here is the amazing truth!! These narratives are not true. They are not who you really are.

Remember that you are worthy, you are capable, you are loveable, and you are enough. Just. As. You. Are.

The gentle sound of doves cooing is one of my favorite noises. Trees are budding to life, warm days beckon me out into the sunlight, and beautifully painted skies close out each day. Spring is here!

Spring: a time of renewal, of birth, and of blossoming.

How have you been renewed lately? What new things are you experiencing right now? What parts of yourself do you feel blooming to life?

Spring is also a time to clean: Spring cleaning anyone?

It is a time to re-examine and re-create your space. It is a time to re-prioritize the things that bring you joy and finally throw out what has been weighing you down. Today, I cleaned and re-did my room, vacuumed and opened windows, and put away strewn items that felt overbearing and burdensome.

What things in your life need to be re-examined? What things do you want to prioritize this coming season? What has been weighing you down? What is one thing you can do today to begin to lift the weight from your shoulders?

Here is to new beginnings in whatever form they present themselves! Spring is just beginning, so take it slow 😊

Sometimes life is unsettling; some days are filled with uncertainty, fear, and doubt.

Being in my twenties is both a beautiful blessing and a serious struggle. It is a time when everyone is finding their way, independent and thrown out into the skies. Fly little bird!

Some days I feel like I can take on the world, puffed up and strong, while other days getting out of bed is one of the most difficult things I am asked to do. Somedays I cannot stop smiling, while other days tears spill over and slip down my face. Some weeks I am floating, while others I am trudging through mud. While I know I am not alone in these feelings, it can feel like I am. I am one of those people who will happily take myself out to dinner, go for long solitary drives, and even treat myself to a movie. Sometimes alone time is sacred and much needed, but other times it can feel heavy and lonely. It is scary to face the world alone. Everyone else seems to have it all together; people are getting fulfilling jobs, traveling around the world, marrying the love of their lives, and posting great pictures throughout all it. It is too easy to get caught up in comparisons and doubts, believing yourself to be behind or missing something. In reality, we are all trying our best to get through each day. Remember that. You are not really alone. Even the Instagram models and people who look like they have it all together have bad days and crappy moments. Look inside of yourself and be reminded of your strength, your beauty, and your own friendship.

Wherever you are today, whatever state you are in, know that you are not alone. We are all learning to fly. Love yourself and know that this too shall pass. Stand up tall, spread your wings, and soar. We got this.
